PianoMotion AI

MIDI performance visualizer

Turn piano music into beautiful animated performances.

Upload a MIDI piano performance and watch every note come alive with synchronized falling notes and a realistic piano keyboard.

Live preview — an original demo composition, playing now

Frame-accurate

Every falling note is drawn straight from real MIDI event data — pitch, timing, duration, velocity. Nothing is simulated.

One master clock

Audio, falling notes, key lights and the timeline all read from a single transport, so nothing drifts out of sync.

Built for real files

Handles dense performances with hundreds of simultaneous notes without dropping frames.

Step 1

Upload your piano performance

Start from an exact MIDI file, or let PianoMotion AI transcribe a recording.

MIDI files only — .mid or .midi.

Instrument: Piano · Polyphonic transcription: ON · Velocity estimation: ON · Sustain pedal detection: unavailable in this provider (see below).

Audio transcription is AI-assisted and may contain mistakes. Review the detected notes before generating your final performance. MIDI uploads provide exact note/timing information — audio transcription estimates notes from sound and can be affected by recording quality, background noise, reverb, overlapping notes and heavy sustain pedal.

Using the development transcription provider: real signal-processing analysis of your audio (FFT-based onset & pitch detection), not a trained neural transcription model. Accuracy will be well below a production model — the architecture is built so one can be connected later without changing anything downstream.

Under the hood

How It Works

  1. Upload — bring a real .mid/.midi file.
  2. Parse — every note's pitch, start time, duration and velocity is read directly from the file.
  3. Map — each note is placed above its exact key on an 88-key keyboard.
  4. Play — one master clock drives the audio, the falling notes, the key lights and the timeline together.
  5. Explore — pause, seek, slow it down or speed it up — the mapping never changes, only how fast you move through it.

Phase 1 (this build) covers MIDI visualization end-to-end. Animated hands, audio transcription and video export are planned for later phases.
